How can we identity the number of PCB layers ?
The first isvisual inspection, a most intuitive way, just using our eye to check the quantity of insulation between the layers which is using to ensure that there will be no shorrrt circuit issue between different PCB layers , that we can consult the layer quantity .
And secondary , we can use the“via” on the PCB to identify the number of PCB layers. The principle is mainly due to the use of via technology for the circuit connection of multilayer PCBs in many PCB factory in Shenzhen, china .
For example, if some of the board guide holes appear on the front side of the PCB board but are not found on the reverse side, then it is a 6/8 layer board. If the same guide hole can be found on both the front and back of the PCB board, it is naturally a 4-layer board.
Or other is involves in blind holes ,since the blind holes do not need to run through the entire PCB, if it is six or more layers, the board will be viewed from the light source, and the light will not pass through. So there is also a very popular saying before: whether the four or more layers of PCBs are judged by whether the vias leak light.
And the last one is accumulation method, to be exact , this is not a method , but an experience , which should be the most accurate one .We can judge by the routing of the common PCB board and the position of the components .
