1：Number of layers and technical complexity
For every additional 2 layers, the cost increases by approximately 15% to 25%. The higher the requirements for interlayer alignment accuracy (within ±30μm), laser drilling density (micro holes below 0.1mm), and signal integrity design, the greater the processing difficulty.
2：Cost of Special Materials
For high-frequency and high-speed applications, high-end substrates such as Rogers and Panasonic MEGTRON are required. The price is 3 to 8 times that of ordinary FR4. The selection of copper foil thickness and low-loss PP sheets directly affects the proportion of raw materials.
3：Process yield loss
The lamination process of 20-layer boards exceeds 6 times, and the risk of layer deviation intensifies.The HDI blind-buried hole structure results in a yield rate generally lower than 85%.(Ordinary boards＞95%).For every 1% decrease in yield rate, the cost per batch increases by approximately 20,000 CNY.
4：Equipment and process thresholds
It requires investment in laser drilling machines (with a precision of 5 μm), vacuum laminating machines (with temperature control within ±1.5℃), LDI exposure equipment, etc. The high-level impedance control (with a tolerance of ±5%) and back drilling processes further increase the processing cost.
5：Order volume and delivery time of high multi-layer PCBs
For small batch orders (< 3㎡), the unit price will be 30% – 50% higher. For urgent delivery within 15 days, the cost is 30% higher than the regular 30-day delivery due to the need for dedicated production line scheduling.
